Applications will open on Monday for a rental assistance program aimed at helping renters in Glendale facing financial hardships remain housed.
The Glendale Rental Assistance and Stabilization Program, or GRASP, will begin accepting applications Monday, according to city officials.

According to the city, the program is designed to assist renters who have experienced a destabilizing financial event, such as job loss, major medical expenses, a utility shutoff, an eviction notice or other housing-related hardship within the past year.
To qualify, applicants must be Glendale residents, have a household income below 80% of the area median income and provide documentation verifying their eligibility and financial hardship.
City officials said applications will be used to determine eligibility and create a ranked list of qualified households based on urgency of need and other vulnerability factors.
Depending on their circumstances, eligible applicants may receive emergency rental assistance, short-term income support, utility assistance or other housing-related aid intended to help them remain in stable housing.

In emergency situations, assistance may cover up to six months of rent and utilities per household, according to the city.
The Glendale City Council established the program in September 2025 using funding from the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency's Renter Protection and Homelessness Prevention allocation. The council later approved additional guidance regarding the program's structure.
City officials said future application periods will depend on the availability of funding after assistance is provided to applicants with the highest level of need.
Homeowners, mortgage holders and people who are currently experiencing homelessness are not eligible for the program. The city said the application does not request or retain information regarding immigration status.
