Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor, high-speed coaster will open to the public on Sept. 16, the park announced Monday.

Monsters, ghoulies, and all sorts of evening eeks will stomp and swirl at the Valencia theme park.

Additional sound barriers will be installed to reduce sounds from the new “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.

A power outage delayed the opening Wednesday at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. Southern California Edison said power was restored at the more than 200-acre property near Santa Clarita at about 12:15 p.m. The opening was delayed from the usual 10:30 a.m. opening. Details about what caused the outage were not immediately available.
