WATCH HEREThe spritely seasonal attraction drew a cavalcade of calaveras-seeking fans over the years. Soon, Boney Island went on the road for larger digs, first to an area near Travel Town in Griffith Park and then to the Natural History Museum in Exposition Park.
But the rattling around is about to fall silent, as the hardworking team behind the Halloween-y high jinks are bidding goodbye to the big bone bash.
"After more than 20 unforgettable years, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to officially bring Boney Island to an end due to unforeseen permitting and production challenges in what would have been our new home in Valencia," stated a social media message on Aug. 10.
But an interesting enticement softened the message, an announcement the fans had hoped not to hear: "If you'd like to keep a little piece of the magic, all will be for sale!"
The details for the event, which is taking place at 27801 Avenue Scott in Valencia, were just revealed: Boney Island's Mega Sale is mischievously arising, during select hours, from Aug. 28 through 30.
