KingCobraJFS’s net worth: How a musician battled alcoholism, Asperger’s syndrome and still made millions

Joshua Fay Saunders, a cult YouTube personality, also known by his online moniker KingCobraJFS, has died at the age of 34, according to several reports. The Natrona County Coroner’s Office confirmed his passing in a statement released Friday. Though the cause of his death remains unclear, his family believes health issues and alcoholism played a role.

“The Natrona County Coroner's Office in conjunction with The Casper Police Department is investigating a death that occurred on August 21, 2025, in the 100 block of North Forest Drive,” the statement said.

“Natrona County Coroner James Whipps has identified the decedent as 34-year-old Joshua Fay Saunders of Casper, WY. An autopsy has been scheduled, and Next of Kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing and further information surrounding the circumstances of the death will be released later.”

Who is KingCobraJFS?

Known for his gothic persona and controversial livestreams, Saunders faced lifelong bullying and addiction worsened by online harassment. KingCobra JFS launched his YouTube channel in 2011 and developed a huge fan following through his gothic persona, eccentric “food hack” videos, unfiltered livestreams, and love for music, wands, and heavy metal. Despite controversy and public challenges, many fans admired his authenticity and the raw honesty with which he shared his life.

On August 22, 2025, the musician was reportedly found unresponsive in his home in Casper, Wyoming. While scanner audio from local police noted he was discovered “blue at the lips,” an official cause of death has not yet been released by the coroner.

Now, a video of Joshua Fay Saunders' father r announcing his son's death has since circulated online. In the now-deleted video, which was originally uploaded to Saunders’ own YouTube channel, his father said Joshua was found unresponsive in his Casper apartment during a wellness check.The video is going viral on X, with tributes pouring in for the YouTuber.

“I got on today to delete all of his social media… because ‘f*** you’ is how I’m feeling. But I realized that would not be fair to his fans, and it’s certainly nothing he would want," his dad said in the video. "As you all know, Josh was harassed and bullied terribly his whole life. From the time he was 3, it was just nonstop. It was like he had a neon sign that said ‘Please pick on me.'"


The clip was later reposted to X (formerly Twitter) by user Slacker Blue Pod. In the emotional viral footage, his father revealed Joshua endured relentless bullying throughout his life.

In addition to alcoholism, Saunders also lived with Asperger’s syndrome, a condition on the autism spectrum (ASD) characterized by difficulties in social communication and interaction, along with repetitive behavior patterns.

“Josh was harassed terribly his whole life,” his father said, recalling how the mistreatment began as early as age three. He also faced frequent online harassment, much of it coming from trolls who targeted him with cruelty, often sending him alcohol, which worsened his well-documented struggles with addiction.

KingCobraJFS’s net worth is currently estimated at $118,416. Most of his income came from his YouTube channel of the same name, which has over 107,000 subscribers. The channel was founded in 2011 and contains more than 5,000 videos, as per Merca.

His content often involved excessive consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and food, behaviors that led to legal troubles on multiple occasions. In 2018, police responded to complaints about noise during a stream in which he appeared intoxicated. In 2019, he was a victim of “swatting,” when someone called the police pretending to be him and reported a fake crime.

In 2020, he was notified of an eviction, likely due to smoking indoors and other risky behaviors. He later moved to a new apartment where he continued his habits. In December 2022, he was arrested for public intoxication after smoking near flammable materials at a gas station.

Joshua also faced controversy over animal mistreatment, including the death of his praying mantis, Mrs. Green, which he later sold as a decorative item, and the neglect of an adopted bearded dragon named Puff, who disappeared after being exposed to extreme cold.
