    Alicia Silverstone’s Irish Blood renewed for Season 2 by Acorn TV

    Acorn TV’s hit drama Irish Blood has been renewed for a season 2, with Alicia Silverstone ready to reprise her lead as Fiona Fox. The first season followed Fiona, “whose path in life is earmarked by her father, who abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday,” as she travelled to Ireland to discover family secrets and rebuild with her estranged father. With outstanding performances from a talented cast, the series became Acorn TV’s most popular original.

    Acorn TV has officially renewed Irish Blood for a second season after the breakout popularity of its debut run. The six-episode series, led by Alicia Silverstone, has rapidly become the platform’s most successful original production to date.

    Season One

    The first season of Irish Blood follows Fiona Fox (Silverstone), “whose path in life is earmarked by her father, who abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday,” according to the official logline. “When a message from her father sends her to Ireland, she begins to learn key truths about her father and uncovering the mystery of a family that doesn’t know she exists. As Fiona starts to uncover the full truth about her father, she finds herself reconnecting with the parent she only thought she knew.”

    Ensemble Cast

    Including Silverstone, Season 1 featured James O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle), Wendy Crewson (We Were Liars), Dearbhla Molloy (Wild Mountain Thyme), Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials), Ruth Codd (How to Train Your Dragon), and Leonardo Taiwo (Wheel of Time).
