Daylight Saving Time ends early in 2025 — here’s the exact date to set your clocks back

    Synopsis

Sunday will mark the end of the Daylight saving time —days on which in a bid to ramp up some morning hours in their kitty, folks in most parts of the U.S. move back the time—by an hour—and get some extra bit of shuteye. However, being close to the equator, states like Hawaii and most of Arizona give it a skip. The change brings shorter days, longer nights, and earlier sunsets for many Americans this year.

Daylight Saving Time ends early in 2025 — here’s the exact date to set your clocks backTIL Creatives
As the end of Daylight saving time is near, now the days will become shorter and nights will become longer. Many are fed up with the arduous clock changing process, but stand helpless with US daylight saving tradition still widely practised—done twice yearly for adjusting the share of morning and evening hours.

The clocks will now be rolled back to one hour before—quite literally—because of the plan for daylight saving. This gives everyone an extra hour of sleep but also brings earlier sunsets and longer dark evenings in many areas. Daylight saving time will officially end at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as reported by USA Today.

Daylight saving time 2025 date and time

This year’s ending date, November 2, comes one day earlier than last year. It is also the second-earliest possible date for the time change because the earliest possible date is November 1. Daylight saving time will begin again next year on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

The period of Daylight saving is between March and November when clocks are set ahead by one hour. People “spring forward” in March to get more daylight in the evenings. In November they “fall back” to get more daylight in the mornings. Not every state in the United States follows daylight saving time. Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe it, as per USA Today report.

Arizona, Hawaii and U.S. territories skip daylight saving time

Arizona does not follow daylight saving time because of its desert climate. The state decided there was no reason to make sunsets later during the hottest part of the year. Owing to some of its land mass belonging to the Arizona state, Navajo Nation still follows daylight saving time.

The state won’t need the clock to change, as Hawaii has almost the same number of day- hours all year round—owing to its proximity to the equator. Also, five of the U.S. states won’t play a role in daylight saving time. These are American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as stated by USA Today report.
