Kim and Khloe Kardashian have yet again attracted backlash after the famous sisters headed to Mexico to undergo stem cell procedures which are illegal in the US. Kim, 44 and Khloe, 41 have both revealed getting this done via their respective social media to their millions of followers, a RadarOnline report says.

What is Muse stem cell therapy?

Muse stem cell therapy uses naturally occurring cells in the body to repair damaged tissues by transforming into necessary cell types and replacing damaged ones. These cells are found in bone marrow and other tissues, possess pluripotency-like features, can migrate to damaged areas in response to "SOS" signals, and have a high resistance to stressful conditions.

This revelation has sparked widespread debates about safety concerns of dangerous and risky beauty and health procedures, which the Kardashian family has gotten a lot of.

The sisters reportedly underwent Muse stem cell treatments at a clinic in Mexico run by a Canadian doctor Adeel Khan, and have openly praised the “life-changing” efficiency of the outlawed treatment.

Why is it outlawed in the US?

The FDA has approved some stem cell treatments, such as those for blood disorders, but the criteria for these approvals are strict. For many other conditions, the FDA does not consider these treatments safe or effective, and therefore they are not legally permissible for use.

Kim took to het 365 million followers on Instagram saying that "Two years ago, I tore my shoulder while lifting weights, leaving me in debilitating pain… his team treated my shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells, and the results were immediate. I regained full range of motion, and my shoulder has felt completely normal ever since," stated the report.

Happy with the last results, she went to get the treatment done the second time after experiencing chronic back pain."The Muse stem cell treatment was a game-changer once again," she said according to RadarOnline.
