Learn how to install the pixel to discover actions that people are taking on your website.
There are two options to install the pixel on your website:
What can the pixel do for my business?
Installing the pixel allows you to track what people are doing on your website, such as purchasing your products or services or adding items to their basket.
You can also use the pixel to retarget your ads to people who have previously viewed a particular web page or subscribed to your email list.
Option 1:
Install your pixel through a partner platform.
Follow a few simple steps to see if your pixel can be installed with a supported eCommerce platform such as Shopify or WooCommerce, or a website platform such as Squarespace or WordPress.

Verify that your pixel is active and resolve any issues with the following tools:
- Tool #1: Install the Pixel Helper plugin on Chrome to verify that your pixel is working correctly and check for common errors.
- If you can't see the Pixel Helper icon in your browser, click the puzzle icon called Extensions and select the pin icon next to Pixel Helper.
- Once installed, navigate to your website in Chrome and click the Pixel Helper icon to make sure your pixel has been found.
- Tool #2: Go to Data sources in Events Manager and visit the Diagnostics tab to find and resolve critical issues that may keep your pixel from working correctly.
Once your pixel is listed as active, follow Meta's 4-step guide to optimise it.

If no pixels were found, try re-installing the pixel code through one of the two options listed above: platform integration or manual installation.
Once the error has been resolved, follow Meta's 4-step guide to optimising your pixel.
While the Pixel Helper may have found pixel code on your website, the pixel isn't receiving information from your website and relaying it back to Meta.
There are two reasons why this might happen:
Reason no. 1: There could be an error in your pixel base code. Delete the pixel code that you've placed on your website and add the code again.
Reason no. 2: You've set up your pixel to receive information about a dynamic event, such as when someone clicks a button on your web page. In this case, click the button where you installed your pixel code and click on the Pixel Helper in the top right of your browser bar.
Once the error has been resolved, follow Meta's 4-step guide to optimising your pixel.
- Your pixel has sent the same signal to Meta multiple times, which impacts the accuracy of your website's reporting. To fix this, make sure that you've only included the pixel base code once on each page where you're tracking a specific action.
- If you have added event code to your website, avoid placing the same event code multiple times on the same page.
Once the error has been resolved, follow Meta's 4-step guide to optimising your pixel.
- The pixel ID in your pixel base code isn't recognised by Meta. To fix this, replace the pixel ID in your pixel base code with the pixel ID assigned to an active ad account.
Once the error has been resolved, follow Meta's 4-step guide to optimising your pixel.
- Recent privacy updates on Apple devices have made it more difficult for businesses to track user actions. However, the pixel is still effective in recording valuable website actions and optimising your campaigns.
- Follow the pixel update recommendations, such as setting up Conversions API and verifying your website domain in Events Manager, to get the most out of your pixel and campaigns.
