Netflix is kicking off 2025 with a bang, dropping its very first Tamil web series of the year — The Game: You Never Play Alone. Set to premiere on October 2, the show promises to be a nail-biting ride that dives deep into the dangers of our hyper-connected lives. Directed by Rajesh M. Selva and headlined by Shraddha Srinath alongside Santhosh Prathap, this psychological thriller blurs the line between secrets, trust, and deception in a world dominated by screens.

    A thriller with a pulse

The Game: You Never Play Alone is not just about suspense—it’s also about the fragile connections we build and break in the digital age. The story follows a female game developer who finds herself targeted in a coordinated cyberattack. As she races to uncover the truth, the series unpacks themes of identity, power, and betrayal, making it as emotionally intense as it is thrilling.

Netflix India’s VP of Content, Monika Shergill, described the series as “fresh and relevant,” highlighting how it reflects the realities of modern digital life. She also pointed out that teaming up again with Applause Entertainment, after successful projects like Black Warrant, has allowed Netflix to deliver a high-stakes story with a strong emotional core.

    The director’s vision

For Rajesh M. Selva, the series is more than a thriller—it’s a mirror to the way technology entangles our lives. “It’s a story about choices, vulnerabilities, and the thin line between truth and deception,” he told Netflix.
