Japan in chaos! PM Ishiba quits after Trump tariff deal; Party looks for successor

A political earthquake has shaken Tokyo. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has resigned, less than a year after taking office, plunging the world’s fourth-largest economy into fresh uncertainty. Now the Liberal Democratic Party scrambles to elect a new leader. Among the frontrunners are Sanae Takaichi, a veteran pushing looser fiscal and monetary policies, and Shinjiro Koizumi, a rising star and son of a former Prime Minister.
