As Karnataka offers 50% waiver on traffic e-challan fines till September 15, 2025, here's how you can pay it online

The Karnataka government has announced a 50% rebate (waiver) on pending traffic penalties beginning on August 21, 2025, in an effort to ease the burden on the public and expedite the settlement of pending traffic infraction cases throughout the state.
A Karnataka government circular stated, “To facilitate the settlement of pending traffic violation cases across the state and to reduce the burden on the public, the government of Karnataka has announced a 50% rebate (waiver) on pending traffic fines starting from August 21, 2025.”

How to check if there is challan against your vehicle
Step 1: Visit https://btp.karnataka.gov.in/enStep 2: Click on Pay Traffic fine (direct link https://kspapp.ksp.gov.in/ksp/api/traffic-challan)
Step 3: Enter your phone number and the received OTP
Step 5: If there is any challan against your vehicle, its details such as the challan number and the fine will be displayed. You can select it and make an online payment.
How to make an e-Challan payment on Paytm?
Here are the simple steps to make a payment through Paytm-Step 2: Navigate to “Bill Payments” and click on “View All”.
Step 3: Locate the transit option and click on “Challan”. Alternatively, you can use the search bar to find the challan.
Step 4: Select “Bangalore Traffic Police” as the “Traffic Authority”.
Step 6: Click on “Proceed” to check the fine amount.
Step 7: Choose your preferred mode of payment from credit card, debit card, Paytm UPI, or net banking.
Once the payment is completed, you will receive a notification regarding the same.
How to pay traffic fines at KarnatakaOne centres?
The Bangalore Police Service has integrated its ‘Traffic Violation Fine Payment’ service with KarnatakaOne centres. Citizens who have been fined for breaking traffic rules can also pay their fines at any of the KarnatakaOne centres. They need to present their issued notice at a KarnatakaOne centre and pay the penalty amount.According to the Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP) website, “Yes. As per Sec 129 MV Act, while riding, wearing a standard helmet in an appropriate way with securely fastened chin strap is compulsory for any person above 4 years of age. However Sikhs wearing Turban are exempted from this rule. Violators will be charged U/sec 194 D of M.V (Amendment) Act- 2019 for which fine is Rs.500/- and person or a pillion rider without helmet will be disqualified for holding a license for 3 months.”
