The strike follows a separate Ukrainian drone attack on the same Perm facility on April 29, with long-range drones targeting the station in an operation carried out by the Alpha special forces unit. Each tank at the station can hold up to 50,000 cubic meters of oil, or roughly 314,000 barrels, making the strike potentially significant for fuel storage and transport operations. The Perm station is a major oil transit hub used for receiving, storing, and pumping crude through Russia’s main pipeline network. Located in Russia’s Perm Krai, east of Moscow near the Ural Mountains, the facility forms part of the broader infrastructure network that handles a significant share of Russia’s domestic oil flows. https://www.msn.com/en-us/public-safety-and-emergencies/general/russia-s-perm-oil-station-struck-for-2nd-straight-day-by-ukrainian-drones-fires-reported/ar-AA224lDC?ocid=BingNewsSerp The Ukrainians hit Perm two days in a row. This strike is significant for two reasons. First, it's the main transit hub for just about all the pipelines headed west out of Siberia. Those that go to the Black Sea, Europe and the northern loading ports. Take out Perm, and you cut off 60% of Russian oil transit. Brutal to say the least. Second, it shows the Ukrainians can strike out to some 1,800km. Meaning there is little in the way of Russian MIC and economic assets that Ukraine can't reach. Never mind it's also a clear sign the Russian air defenses have pretty much collapsed. Photos of black smoke blanketing the sky over the city of Perm are circulating online. An "oil rain" later fell in the Russian oblast — local residents noticed black spots on their clothes, cars, and buildings. The exact same "rain" was spotted by residents of Tuapse, where Rosneft's oil infrastructure continues to burn after three drone attacks since April 16. Russian ecologists state that the black color of the smoke in Perm Krai, as in Tuapse, is a direct sign of a high concentration of soot with adsorbed carcinogens, which settle down as "rain" and pose a severe threat to human health. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/black-smoke-and-carcinogens-blanket-perm-after-oil-facility-attack-video/ar-AA21ZMgP?ocid=BingNewsSerp The videos coming out of Perm and Tuapse are almost apocalyptic. Massive fires which last for days with heavy black smoke and oil rain blanketing the populated cities. You do see the tanks were in fact protected by anti-drone netting which offered little to no protection. “For us, here, there is a war going on. Just now, they [Ukraine] hit Tuapse, and not a little. We are being hit everywhere,” Solovyev erupted during a conversation with a Russian female beauty influencer named Viktoria Bonya. “The thing is, there is a part of our society for which there is no war. Which doesn’t want to accept the war. Which doesn’t want to see it.” ... A speaker identified as a retired Russian army officer in a comment published on the opposition channel @kargopult5 on April 22 took military leadership to task and even dared suggest Russia should admit defeat and leave Ukraine. “Have you seen what is going on in Tuapse? It is the utter humiliation of all Russian armed forces. They have turned the country into a pass-through courtyard [Russian: прохолнй двор]. Where is the might of Russian weapons? Where are our designs that have no comparison? I have said, and I repeat again: The first thing is to establish order. And only then to ask for trouble [Russian: лезть на рожон]. We need to immediately review the objectives of the special military operation, and turn away, before it’s too late,” the man identified with the surname Shamanov said. Some Kremlin loyalists have predicted the situation with Ukrainian drones will get even worse. https://www.kyivpost.com/post/75030 That speaks for itself.
