Hi everyone, let’s start a cooking thread for posting the pictures of the dishes we like to cook. And maybe add some advice or information about the dish. So we can share information and help each other :) I will start: I like to cook Gai pad med mamuang (chicken cashew). I add 15 chilis and make the chicken pieces a little bigger, soak first. Sometimes I can’t get the texture of the red peppers right. But nice!

Searching for premium fish & chips in Bangkok. Good means quality fish like Atlantic Cod, or Haddock or Pollack, not that cheap "Pacific Cod", or Panglosius trash fish. Good means crispy batter in fresh, clean oil, no taste of old, over-used, burnt oil. Good means comes with hand-cut chips, from fresh potatoes, not frozen, skinny, factory-made "fries". Mushy peas would be nice. With delivery in central Bangkok. Willing to pay ... not expecting cheap price. Is there any hope for this dream? (Before posting this topic I searched and searched for "fish chips" on this forum. Nothing found. There are some "best of..." from searchin…

I enjoy cooking, one of my all time favorite leisure activities. Today's attempt at excellence is a Indian style, seafood Curry. Prawns, salmon, squid, scallops, in a Korma type source. I add peas, baby carrots and half cream to give it a little more 'depth' of flavor, served with rice or pasta. Total cost of ingredient's was 1,200 Baht, but it will serve 4, or last 4/5 days for one. My mouth is watering already. 😆

Each region in Thailand offers a distinct and unique variety of dishes. Some of Thailand’s most delicious dishes come from the northern part of the country. Set among mountain valleys with a cool climate, Northern Thai Food is highly influenced by Burmese cuisines. In addition, it’s relatively mellow compared to Northeastern (Isaan) cuisine. Below, we’ve compiled some of our favourite Northern Thai dishes. 1. Khao Soi (Curry Noodle Soup) Khao soi is possibly the most popular Northern Thai food, and it should be on top of your list when trying Thai food. Mainly made of egg noodles and curry, the […] The story The most popular Northern Thai dishes as seen on Thaiger News. …

Mundane I know, but is there any expert opinion on local wholewheat/wholemeal bread. Does it warrant that description or not.? I haven't voluntarily eaten white bread for years due to, in my opinion, it tastes like a mix of sawdust and cotton wool. I have been curious about the w/w for a long time, just never got round to asking.

There are thousands of delicious Thai dishes, but not many of them are considered breakfast-only dishes. Instead, lots of Thai foods can be eaten at many points during the day. That’s why it can be challenging to work out the difference between Thai breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks. That said, there are some foods that are more commonly enjoyed in the morning and considered traditional Thai breakfast food. These foods are typically less spicy and easier to eat, perfect to get you started for the day and give you the energy you need to move forward. 1. I'm sure most of us have certain skills that may be useful to other members, so why not share these skills and we may be able to help each other to save money and indeed make a better product that can be bought. I decided to start making my own bread quite a few years ago, the idea came about when I'd go down to Big C or Makro to buy my weekly bread and find that they had sold out or the bread was a few days old or as hard as a house brick. So did some research on YouTube and tried many of the recipes and videos being shown, some worked and some were downright failures. However I came across a video called Bake with Jack and 'hey presto' never looked back since, he d…

Isan, the northeastern region of Thailand, is possibly the most underrated region in the country in terms of tourism. However, its delicious cuisine dominates the Thai culinary scene. You can find most of the region’s dishes across the country, whether in restaurants or street food stalls. Bordering with Laos, Isan food has strong Laotian influences. I liked the beer because it only has 4.1% alcohol. I do not like the the flavor of San Miguel Light. Anybody have any info? Thanks

Being an Australian, I grew up with Golden Circle pineapple in a can, even went to "The Big Pineapple" in Gympie Queensland as a kid (from memory) The fresh pineapple juice was junky, I didn't like it because the canned juice i was used to was just liquid. Then I came to Thailand in 2002, My girlfriend at the time bought me this plastic bag with slices of pineapple and a bamboo stick in it. I looked at it and said no thanks, because I was used to the bitter taste of Aussie pineapples, She said, "Eat it,It's good for your body" So I did. Wholly cow, the pineapple in Thailand is the most juicy and sweet pineapple I have ever tasted, the plastic bag it was in had …

A visit to Thailand is never complete without tasting its delicious food. Thai food is known to be delicious and incorporates the five primary flavours: sour, spicy, salty, sweet, and bitter. However, there’s more to Thailand’s culinary scene than tom yum (hot and sour soup), green and red curry, and som tum (papaya salad). You might be surprised to see that many unusual things are eaten in the Land of Smiles. Most of these strange Thai foods are local favourites. I used to enjoy Mark Wien's Bangkok/Thailand food vlogs, but lately have discovered I enjoy Mint's "I Roam Alone" food/travel vlogs more. Mint seems to ask questions, know more, and has better opinions on the food than Mark. Seeing her drop down into a circle of local women stuffing frogs and joining in is, I think, a perfect example of what she does and Mark can't. But during one of Mints (sponsored I think) vids she mentions a food (tour?) App called 'retty' and in it the tour guide does a fantastic job discussing the food - better than Mint :-) But Retty appears to be aimed at the Thai language / local market (all I could find was all in Thai) but that…
