Thank the warmer weather or the easygoing attitude that it takes many of us most of the summer to adopt. Whatever the reason, heading to a spot that is staying open later, all so visitors can shop and snack and savor the Golden Hour, feels like one of the month's most marvelous gifts.
Tanaka Farms in Irvine is in the evening swing of things, with a melon-inspired event happening after-hours each Friday through Aug. 21.
It's the Melon Night Market, which begins at 5 and concludes at 9 o'clock, making it a true end-the-week wind-down for farm fans who love an awesome agricultural setting.
A variety of vendors will be out, with the who's-coming list popping up on the Tanaka Farms social pages. Pet treats, succulents, stickers, stationery, and an assortment of lovely things will be for sale, with up to 30 vendors expected at each event.
Food, too, will be available for purchase, if you're looking to munch on melon-y goodies or other vittles.

If you'd like to join one of the farm's very (very very) popular Melon Tasting Tours, that is a separate ticket, keep in mind, and securing yours in advance is a must. The tours happen beyond the night markets, so if you can't get a Friday evening ticket, you'll have other opportunities.
Wagon rides, which give guests a good peep at the farm and what's growing, are on the Melon Night Market schedule, along with games for kids.
Soon, pumpkins will be the autumn-themed stars at the verdant location, but as August arrives another globular favorite is getting the glory.
Melon mavens, this is your moment: A fresh and juicy night market is captivating fruit fans in Irvine, and you've got a few Fridays to saunter by and enjoy the sweet flavor.
