The most ornate historic movie palace, the liveliest theme park, a fish taco that rocks the perfect pico de gallo and tenderest tortillas: You've likely got some sort of handy list lined up for the moment you are inevitably queried.
And surely, and without a doubt, you also know the murals you moon over, the large-of-scale, large-of-spirit artworks that are open to all, night and day, outside businesses, in alleyways, and just about everywhere on the Southern California map.
A free party in Los Feliz is pausing to celebrate this marvelous muraldom on Aug. 15 with a street party, one that will include music performances, food for sale, and summer-y sights that uplift and intrigue.
The Los Feliz Art & Music Block Party & Mural Festival will spotlight "... live painting, performances, local artisan booths, original artwork, community displays, and family-friendly activities throughout the day."
The music schedule is live, with the Hollywood Highsteppers kicking off the program.
