  • In the last few years we’ve witnessed a dramatic shift away from the progress we need to avert climate disaster. A growing lobby of economic and political denial has been empowered by the Trump administration, which has declared war on climate progress, launching more dramatic anti-green moves in its first 100 days than in his entire first term. Around the world, a growing number of lawsuits are being used against governments over environmental laws and other regulations, while groups such as Greenpeace are being targeted too. What are the forces driving the pushback against a greener world? How have policies and actions to protect the climate been so badly weaponised? And what can we do to counter this new kind of opposition to climate action?Sign up to the Guardian Live events newsletterSee more recordings on the Guardian Live YouTube channelProduced by Tanya Anastasiadis, Maddie Earle, and Bridgette Mohammed for Guardian Live

  • Terry Gilliam, one of cinema’s great visionaries, joined the Guardian to celebrate his extraordinary life and career, live at Cadogan Hall in London.2025 marked a remarkable series of milestones for Gilliam: it’s been 50 years since the brilliance of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 40 years since the dystopian masterpiece Brazil, and 30 years since the mind-bending 12 Monkeys. The perfect moment to reflect on a life spent pushing the boundaries of imagination on screen.Produced by Tanya Anastasiadis and Ruth White for Guardian Live

  • An evening with the Guardian Saturday writers, hosted by Nish Kumar 2025 has been a year of small pleasures and big opinions. Is Kim Kardashian’s legal drama All’s Fair really the worst TV show of all time? What are the best (and worst) vegan cheeses? And twenty years after they first hit the shelves, five-fingered shoes are apparently having a big fashion moment. But what is it like to wear them in public? As the year drew to a close, Guardian Live hosted a special event with columnist Tim Dowling, film and TV writer Stuart Heritage, and cook and author Meera Sodha. They joined comedian, broadcaster, and occasional Guardian contributor Nish Kumar for an evening of sharp observations, seasonal reflections and behind-the-scenes stories from the Guardian.Produced by Tanya Anastasiadis and Maddie Earle for Guardian Live
