India must be sashastra, surakshit & aatmanirbhar: CDS Chauhan at the first ever Ran Samvad

At the first ever Ran Samvad 2025,Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan set the tone for India’s evolving defence doctrine, stressing that future wars will be shaped more by technology and strategy. From highlighting India’s vision of developing its own Sudarshan Chakra to announcing that India cannot afford to lag behind in the global military race, CDS underscored that “Viksit Bharat must also be Shashastra, Surakshit and Aatmanirbhar.” Blending lessons from Operation Sindoor with wisdom from the Mahabharata and Chanakya, he reminded that strategy and scholarship remain as vital as weapons in future conflicts.
