With months left for the Bihar assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav who is leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly said on Sunday that people of Bihar will ask can Prime Minister Narendra Modi gain "victory" in Bihar by allegedly "setting up factories" in Gujarat
Regarding the implementation of SIR in the entire country, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav told reporters, "Let the Election Commission do it. We know how the Election Commission has worked in Bihar. They have practised so well that they killed the living and brought the dead back to life. Is there such a good practice anywhere?... Now, if anyone comes to Bihar, the people of Bihar have made up their minds. The people of Bihar will ask only one thing from PM Modi: can he set up factories in Gujarat and gain victory in Bihar? That is not going to happen..."
Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday slammed the NDA-led government of Bihar over the lack of development in the state.
Speaking with reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said, "Crime and corruption have increased. This is the situation of Bihar. See the condition of education, irrigation, and healthcare. Bihar is the worst when it comes to per capita income and per capita investment. Bihar is in last place in terms of Farmers' income. There is no industry, no business."
Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date.
While the NDA, comprising the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, aims to continue its tenure in Bihar, the INDIA bloc, comprising the RJD, Congress, and left parties, seeks to oust Nitish Kumar.
In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131 with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, HAM(S)-4, with the support of 2 Independent Candidates. The Opposition's INDIA Bloc has a strength of 111 members with RJD leading with 77 MLAs, Congress-19, CPI(ML)-11, CPI(M)-2 and CPI-2.
