'After phone calls, it’s time they speak face-to-face': Marco Rubio on Trump-Putin Alaska meet
US President Donald Trump is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, aiming to secure a halt to the fighting in Ukraine. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump hopes to determine early in the meeting whether real progress toward peace is possible. He noted that the summit was arranged quickly, with Trump having spoken to Putin over phone several times before deciding it was time for a face-to-face discussion.
