Synopsis

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that its internet banking, YONO Lite, and related services will be temporarily unavailable on September 7, 2025, from 1:20 AM to 2:20 AM IST due to scheduled maintenance. During this period, UPI Lite and ATM services will remain operational. SBI advises customers to plan their online transactions accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

State Bank of India (SBI) has informed its customers about service interruptions and scheduled maintenance that will affect its internet banking, retail, merchant, Yono Lite, CINB, Yono business web & mobile app, and YONO services.

SBI scheduled maintenance date and time

On its official website, SBI says that its internet banking, YONO Lite, and other services will remain unavailable on September 7, 2025, between 1:20 AM and 2:20 AM IST for scheduled maintenance of about an hour. However, services of UPI Lite and ATM will be available during this time, the bank said.

SBI website read, “Due to scheduled activity, the services of internet banking, retail, merchant, Yono Lite, CINB, Yono Business web & mobile App, YONO, will not be available tentatively between 1:20 Hrs. IST and 2:20 Hrs. IST on 07th Sep 2025. During this period, services of UPI Lite and ATM will be available.”

The bank has advised users to plan their online transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience.

What is UPI Lite?

According to the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) website, “UPI LITE is a payment solution which is designed to process low-value transactions that are below Rs 1,000 in a faster and pin-less manner.”


What are the limits associated with the UPI LITE payment mode?

Per transaction limit: Up to max Rs 1,000.
Cumulative usage per day: Rs 10,000.
Maximum balance which can be made available in the UPI LITE account at any time: Rs 5,000.

Services available at SBI ATMs

Apart from cash withdrawals and deposits, SBI ATMs also allow customers to carry out several other transactions, such as:
  • Green PIN : Use the PIN generation menu to create a new PIN/Green PIN for your card.
  • PIN Change: SBI customers can use this service to change their card’s PIN at regular intervals.
  • Balance Enquiry: SBI customers can use this service to check the real time available balance in their account. They can also opt for the ‘Go Green' option by selecting the view option as the balance is displayed on the screen.
  • Mini Statement: Mini Statement provides customers an insight into the last 10 transactions in their account.
  • Credit Card Payment (Visa): Customers can use this service to pay the bill of any Visa credit card.
  • SBI Credit Card Application: People can also apply for a SBI Credit Card by entering their mobile number through SBI ATMs. The SBI Credit card team contacts such customers.
  • Cheque Book Request: An SBI customer can also order their cheque book without visiting the branch or filling any transaction slips. The bank advises them to update their registered address in the branch as the cheque book will be delivered at that address only.
  • Mobile Number Update: SBI customers can also update their mobile number in their account through SBI ATMs.
  • Stop Cheque: ATMs also provide this service, where customers can request to stop the payment of an issued cheque.
  • Limit Update of Debit Card: SBI debit card holders can change the per day transaction limits of ATM, PoS, eCommerce (online transactions), NFC (i.e., contactless or the Tap&Go feature of the card) within the prescribed limits applicable for all SBI Debit card variants.
  • Channel Usage : SBI Debit card holders can enable / disable any channel such as ATM, PoS, eCommerce (online transactions). and NFC (i.e., contactless or Tap&Go feature of card)}. They can also enable / disable the Domestic / International usage of a Debit Card through ATMs..
  • KYC confirmation: Through ATMs, SBI debit card holders can also confirm their periodical KYC (Know Your Customer) process if there is no change in their KYC and the cKYC with valid KYC documents are available with the Bank.
  • Transfer of savings account to another branch: Using this service, customers can transfer their savings account from one branch to another, fulfilling the below eligibility at the time of submitting their transfer request through machines:
a. Single Customer Information File (CIF) has only 1 Savings Account mapped to it.
b. Savings Account has been opened more than or equal to 180 days ago.
c. The last Savings account transfer date should be more than 30 days.

d. The KYC score of a customer should be greater than or equal to 110.
  • Update Income, turnover details: As per regulatory guidelines, income/turnover details of SBI account holders are required to be updated in the bank’s record. An option has been provided to customers to update their income details (individual customers: Savings Accounts and Personal segment Current Accounts) / Turnover details (Non- Individuals: Sole proprietorship firms – Current Accounts) through machines. In case of a joint SBI account, the details will get updated for that CIF, which is linked to the Debit Card used for this transaction.
