For wealth creation, focus on ‘Irrespective of & Despite Trump’: 7 mid-caps from different sectors with upside potential of up to 42%
Friday evening. We are not using the exact words, but the essence of what President Trump said was: India and Russia have fallen into China’s hands. Saturday evening. A 180-degree turn. I have a great relationship with PM Modi and I am only upset because India is buying too much Russian oil, Trump said. So, if you had bearish thoughts on Friday, Saturday would have seen you thinking bullish. It is Sunday and one does not quite know what to expect today. We are dealing with a president whose statements seem to depend on which side of the bed he got up from. The difference is that this time we have an Indian reaction appreciating the positive statements. So, be hopeful but cautious. In this administration, nothing positive is done till it is done.

Time to think beyond correction & volatility? 7 small-caps from different sectors with upside potential of 13% to 50%
We are in turbulent and confused times, at least where the market is concerned. Sentiment on the street swings with each statement by an Indian minister or a US official, or President Trump himself. One way to deal with this is to sit it out. But if you are a smart investor with a long-term perspective you will be wondering whether this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. You may also be wondering whether, after an extended correction, small-cap stocks are at a stage where you should start looking at them? Perhaps. But you need to be smart about picking the right stocks.

These mid-cap stocks with ‘Strong Buy’ & ‘Buy’ recos can rally over 25%, according to analysts
As the market grapples with uncertainty and both sides (India and the US) make claims and counter-claims, remember one thing. This is the time to be cautious about the information you pick up on the street. Just to put this in perspective: Suppose there is a sharp rise in the Nifty and Sensex, don't assume it is because there is a progress on the India-US trade deal. And that the news will soon be out. The upward movement could be purely because of short covering. So, ignore the noise and focus on the business you own or want to own.

Will they finally get the chemistry right? 9 stocks from the specialty chemicals space with an upside potential of up to 45%
While they come under the broad “chemicals sector” umbrella, each specialty chemicals company is literally an industry in itself. Each has its own operating matrix, supply chain, and demand. Just to put this in perspective: Fluorochemicals & fluoropolymers are currently facing overcapacity, but others are in a shortage situation because China hit a pause on exports. For some companies, trouble in China means a big bonus; for others, it means supply chain issues affecting production in India. The Chinese companies themselves have gone through many ups and downs in the past three years. From increasing capacity to cater to the EV boom to pricing wars as they tried to muscle into Europe. All this had its impact on India. We are not saying that things have changed, but Indian companies have learnt to live with increased competition. And that is a good enough reason to revisit these stocks.

Wealth creation has another name: Ignore noise & Trump. Just hold on to good businesses; 22 stocks from different sectors that fit the bill
With the additional 25% tariff all but a reality, here's a question: What will President Trump say or do next? Can anyone predict that? The answer is no. So, if you cannot predict what the man responsible for all the recent market turmoil will do, why try to predict what will happen to stock prices? At such a juncture, you will do well to remember that while the markets are about buying and selling, there is a third option. Which is hold. And when it comes to wealth creation, there are times when it is more important to just hold on to stocks. So if you have quality stocks, stop analysing what is happening to the Nifty and Sensex every day.

These mid-cap stocks with ‘Strong Buy’ & ‘Buy’ recos can rally over 25%, according to analysts
The market’s undercurrent has changed from bearish to neutral territory. Now, what would it require to push it into bullish territory? Simple: Clarity on what happens post-August 27, the day the additional 25% tariff is supposed to kick in. And also the fate of the India-US trade deal. The fact is that no one knows what will happen as one of the parties involved is not a nation but an individual (Trump). And what that individual may do or may not do is something that is tough to predict.
Stock picks of the week: 5 stocks with consistent score improvement and return potential of more than 20% in 1 year
The street is rejoicing over the expected GST rate cut. But there is another side to the story: Will the rationalization lead to a decline in the overall GST collection? This is critical as it is government spending that has powered the economic engine for the last many years, including infrastructure like railways, roads, and ports. So, the economy can ill afford any cut in this spending. Our selected stocks for today depict a strong upward trajectory in their overall average score which is based on five key pillars: Earnings, fundamentals, relative valuation, risk, and price momentum. This implies that there has been a significant improvement in their market outlook in the given time frame.
Nifty and business are different species: 5 small-cap stocks from different sectors with upside potential of up to 30%
For anyone who believed the stock market only goes up in linear fashion, the last 11 months of correction must have been educational. In fact, it would have been even more so in the case of small caps, which do have a higher element of risk. So, how does one reduce the risk of going wrong while selecting small-cap stocks? By doing a bit of hard work, just a bit. If you take care of a few small points before investing, it will go a long way in ensuring that you get that extra return for the extra risk taken. Adhering to these basic points will probably lead to better decision-making while buying. And they will also ensure you do not panic.

For all those who are surprised by what President Trump has said and done, remember his track record. Just a few days into his second term as US president, he was talking of sacking US Fed chairman Jerome Powell; he backtracked in just two days. So, he can say anything and then pull back. This does not mean that, in the short term, there will be no trouble for some businesses. They will face headwinds; and the probability is that there will be a hit in the coming quarters. But if one looks at India’s macro structure, we are still a domestic-oriented economy.
History tells us ‘Hold’ is equal to wealth creation: 11 large- and mid-cap stocks from different sectors with upside potential of up to 37%
Because we have the word “Hold ” in the headline, does it mean today’s list only has stocks where the analyst recommendation is “Hold”? No. But our headline says “Hold”, because, at a time the markets are volatile and bears are again on the prowl, the first instinct is to either buy to “average out” prices, or sell in order to protect profit. But in reality, the best action may well be no action. Just ignore what is happening in the market, whether it is noise about global events or even earnings. Just to put this in perspective. Remember February 2022? That was when Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine. There was panic and the global markets melted. Today, nobody even talks about the war that still rages on. So, if you are holding the right stock, it will pay off in the long term. Do just that: Hold.

For investors with patience & cash: 6 large-caps with strong balance sheets & big TAM; and an upside potential of more than 24%
At this point of time, the street is dealing with confusion more than anything else. Why confusion? Because valuations are not cheap, although the macro fundamentals are all fine. Earnings, however, are not improving at a pace at which the market would have liked. One way to deal with this confusion is to think long term and look at companies with strong balance sheets and large markets that will give them a certain amount of growth even in a downturn. Remember: All industries periodically face rough weather. But strong companies with good managements have the ability to weather the storm. And when the street is not looking at them, it is a good time for you to look at them.

In mid-caps, 'just hold' often creates wealth: 10 mid-cap stocks from different sectors with upside potential up to 44%
Just like there is the FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) in terms of buying, there is also panic selling. And panic selling is the bigger enemy of wealth creation. So, it is better to hold on to some good quality businesses and let the storm pass. So, is there a storm coming? Maybe. And how to decide which is a good quality business? There are both qualitative and quantitative measures which can be used. But more than anything else, what is important is the ability to ignore volatility.
These large- and mid-cap stocks can give more than 24% return in 1 year, according to analysts
Given how the market is reacting to numbers, the chances are that it is going to be in stock-specific mode. What is stock-specific mode? A situation where, rather than a broad-based rally, the street rewards stocks which deliver on earnings or where the fundamental operating matrix is improving. And punishes those where earnings are below estimates. This kind of reaction happens when there is a good amount of money sitting on the sidelines, but that money is cognizant of valuations. So, while being bullish, be selective, with the focus on just one thing: Earnings.
These mid-cap stocks with ‘Strong Buy’ & ‘Buy’ recos can rally over 25%, according to analysts
Are valuations in the mid-cap segment now fairly priced? No. Does it mean you should avoid the segment altogether? The answer is again no. Over the next few quarters, stock price trends and the absolute value of stock prices will be impacted by the fundamentals of the sector as well as valuations. The fundamentals are currently improving for some industries. The first indication came in Q4, and confirmation may come as the Q1 earnings season kicks off. But there are some risks as well. Sectors feeling the impact of the tariff wars might witness a phase of readjustment.
