Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level

Reason: High level of vandalism from numerous users. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 15:11, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – LTA IP hopper has been adding his own name to the page since July, and falsely claiming to be the husband of Isha Ambani (WP:BLP concerns). Yuvaank (talk) 15:19, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Indef semi-protect please. Essentially no IP edits in the last year have been constructive. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:45, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection (perhaps until the end of the current TV season on December 17). Reason: High level of unsourced additions by IP editors. -- Wikipedical (talk) 16:58, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Continued random attempts to sanitize this as anything but a far-right concept. User:Bluethricecreamman (Talk·Contribs) 17:28, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Recent temporary account vandalism. ShallowC (talk) 20:35, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary protection: Rapid vandalism by multiple anons Adakiko (talk) 21:16, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated target of IP vandalism, particularly from one SPA evading a block. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 00:25, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: BLP policy violations – Edit-warring over birth date, picture, middle name, etc. Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 03:14, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Long-term disruption?. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 03:17, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Requesting temporary protection due to disruptive editing after a formal Third Opinion decision.

I followed the entire WP:DR process: • Raised concerns on the Talk Page. • Other editor (Mortdav) did not respond. • Requested WP:Third Opinion. • Third Opinion reviewer confirmed my edits to the Lead and Awards sections were neutral, properly sourced, and compliant with WP:BLP, WP:NPOV, and WP:V. • Third Opinion reviewer restored my edits.

Immediately after the 3O ruling, the same editor reverted the article again without discussion and accused me of “paid editing” without evidence. This is occurring on a Biography of a Living Person (BLP), where unsourced or promotional claims must be handled carefully.

The editor is: — ignoring the Talk Page — ignoring the Third Opinion result — repeatedly reverting stable, sourced edits — making improper accusations

This pattern is disruptive on a BLP and undermines consensus.

Requesting temporary semi-protection or extended-confirmed protection while discussion continues.

Jadu23 (talk) 08:08, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of vandalism and the user not editing appropriately to source material; the user is already known for nonconstructive edits according to their contribution history Junsik1223 (talk) 12:28, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Repeated additions of contentious, dubious sourced material to a BLP. Edit warring. Adakiko (talk) 13:07, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent addition of unsourced content. Waxworker (talk) 15:05, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Very high profile subject, and the diffs here: [1] show that there has been high level of disruptive editing, and some edits are unsourced, vandalism, or both or, on some occasions removing references/content without explaining why or for no good reason whatsoever. Require Auto Confirmed access, at least 1-3 months, I would be against it being indefinite considering the subject is high profile. I also wouldn't be against requiring Extended Confirmed access for a few months or indefinitely, or applying indefinite protection that starts with 30/500 protection which gets reduced to 4/10 protection later. Servite et contribuere (talk) 16:47, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Comment There has been further vandalism since this request here: [2]. The user who vandalized the page has since been blocked, but I still figure protection is justified (Possibly even more justified now) due to the reasons I have provided above. Servite et contribuere (talk) 04:07, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite extended-confirmed protection: Addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content. Extended confirmed or pending changes due to continuous addition of unsourced content by multiple editors 10mmsocket (talk) 21:33, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

I would like to request that all of these pages get upgraded to the highest level of edit protection especially ones related to the allegations due to the contentious nature & stature of Michael Jackson. As all of his pages are prone to vandalism, editing wars & just recently new accounts made 2 days ago & a week or two ago took to the trial page to vandalize it with a large string of edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Never17 (talkcontribs) 09:07, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

DeclinedPages are not protected preemptively. The edits to the trial article are not vandalism but part of a content dispute and are being discussed at Talk:Trial of Michael Jackson#"Timeline" - POV and tone section templates. Favonian (talk) 16:17, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – The user who was adding promotional and marketing content has been blocked (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Serzeskij), but they’re now using an IP address (~2025-37643-80) to continue making those edits. Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Problem 1: this genocide is unverified and is still highly disputed, even with most evidence, the United nations has not fully recognized it either, with only a small group of nations directly recognizing it (Example; Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, other Muslims nations, some other non-muslim nations) but this is still highly disputed and unverified, due to some believing it as propaganda or a anti-israel/antisemite bias. but this is unverified. I'm not denying it, I'm just making a more realistic and nuanced suggestion. BCWOZ9 (talk) 15:54, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Change the Name "Gaza Genocide" to "Gaza Crisis" this is a more non biased idea. It could also prevent the stress of potential arguments of people who see it as a actual genocide and people who do not have that same opinion. Im not going to force any changes in beliefs I'm just saying its best if we avoid any bias even if there is any truth to it Cbwozboy7 (talk) 16:00, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

Hello! I formally request the Autopatrolled user right. I'm a regular user of Wikipedia, both in Turkish and English. I have contributed to the Turkish Wikipedia, particularly on the Tao-Klarjeti region. I have also started to transfer these contributions to the English Wikipedia. I think it would be good to reduce the workload involved in reviewing the items I have written. Thank you. --ႧႤႧႰႨ ႾႠႰႨ (talk) 15:32, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

I have been editing Wikipedia since 2006, have created numerous new articles, edited countless others, and am very familiar with its policies. Λeternus (talk) 12:46, 20 October 2025 (UTC)

I've periodically patrolled Michelangelo1992's articles, and consistently found them to be in good shape. Focused on books as a topic area and very clear familiarity with WP:NBOOK. He's created 135 articles. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 22:56, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

@Michelangelo1992: I'm a little concerned about overly lengthy quotations. Would you commit to summarizing quotations a bit more? Also, see MOS:SAID. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:24, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback! I’ve always trended toward direct quotes to avoid concerns for original research, but I can make an effort to paraphrase more in the future while still citing the original source. I’ll also try to be more mindful of WP:SAID. I thought I was doing fairly well with this, but I am always open to feedback particularly if you have specific suggestions relating to recent articles. Thank you! Michelangelo1992 (talk) 14:37, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello. I've had more than 13 years of experience editing Wikipedia, and I've created over 30 articles in that time (not counting redirects and disambigs). I used to have this user right, and I would like to have it back, as I think it would be great to take my page creations off the backlog. I'm going to be doing some more content creation, even if not immediately. I've also written a handful of GAs, so I have a pretty good understanding of WP content policies. Thanks. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 09:13, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

I believe part of the reason the inactivity period was instituted was to ensure the editors reapplying for autopatrolled would continue to demonstrate familiarity with the community's expectations of content, which might have changed since it was previously granted to them. With that said, it might be helpful for the granting administrator to be able to review some of your more recent articles after you've created them, since XTools says your last creation was in 2022. This is very much a passing comment from a non-administrator, however. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 23:09, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Done, I'll do something unorthodox here since there are no recent articles to evaluate here (the last article creation was in 2021 -- and I have no concerns with your previous creations). I'm giving you the AP right until the end Jan 2026, once that period is over, you can re-request the right and admin can evaluate a few recent creations and extend the full right. Sohom (talk) 17:18, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
Longtime editor dating back to 2006 who hopes to reduce the backlog at New Pages Patrol, of which I am a former member. Not a prolific article creator but I have started many on music albums, hiking/outdoors, and court cases. I plan to utilize my personal expertise to fill in all the red links in this list and this list. I also have professional knowledge of legal matters and hope to create many articles on Supreme Court and Appeals Court cases that are currently absent from Wikipedia. Thanks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:27, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Requesting this perm as someone who has spent the last year incrementally ratcheting up my work with sometimes mind-numbing MOS correcting, maintenance tagging, and short description fixing. To save me time on these, I think the AWB would be a good fit. I have a perfect record of edit summary use from the last 12 months, a clean block log, and a solid grasp of what constitutes appropriate use cases for AWB. Requests for confirmation

Confirmed

I would like to request to be manually confirmed in order to be able to translate pages that aren't in English to English. I am a native speaker of both English and German and have a native level of Spanish. I have experience in translation and made this account because it came to my attention that the page for Laurent Simons [de] does not exist in English Wikipedia. However, in order to translate it from German I need to be confirmed.

Thank you for considering my request. Whenlifegivesyoumapletrees(you sit under them) 17:05, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Not done. You need to be extended confirmed, not autoconfirmed to use the translation tool. If you wish to use the tool you will need to reach that userright naturally, but the right you are requesting is the wrong one anyway. CoconutOctopus talk 16:55, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting confirmed rights I would like to update my father's Wikipedia page to contain more information about his life. Tlfarah (talk) 19:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

@Tlfarah: Your request here does not make it clear what page you want to edit, nor why you would need "Confirmed" level permission to edit that page. Most pages do not require this. Also, I strongly suggest that you read WP:COI and properly declare your conflict of interest before proceeding further. - Jmabel | Talk 00:03, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for request: I am organizing an editathon and would like to use the CampaignEvents extension on English Wikipedia. (You can see my current event page on Meta-Wiki, but I think it would be easier for attendees if I hosted the event page on English Wikipedia instead.)

Requests for new page reviewer

New page reviewer

I’ve already created a few articles and I often check new pages for sourcing, notability, and overall quality. I also help out in AfD discussions when I can, mostly to look at whether topics meet notability and if the sources are solid. I enjoy helping new editors fix their pages and guiding them on what needs improvement. Since I’m already active in this area, I’d like to take a more direct role in keeping the new pages feed clean and helping page creators understand the basics. Becoming a reviewer would let me contribute more effectively. Thanks for considering my request! Acrom12 (talk) 11:57, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello to the reviewer! I've noticed the large backlog and would like to help make some progress with patrolling pages, mainly redirects. I have some previous experience in the article for creation space, creating my own articles, and creating my own redirects. I try to help new incoming editors, including mentoring my current partner and teaching them how to use the features of Wikipedia. I'm capable of catching content that probably shouldn't belong on Wikipedia, but also helping new users expand draft articles.

I participate in AfD, though my suggestions are often rejected; I consider this a skill that I am still learning. It's worth noting that I have never misused speedy deletion or other non-discussion deletion methods; my usage of these has been successful when I have applied them. Even still, my knowledge of AfC and redirects provides me with a good basis to use this right.

Thank you, and please ask any questions you may have. aaronneallucas (talk) 05:12, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

I've been editing a while and over recent years have been helping mostly with WP:Ukraine-related topics and pages. Having done research on Ukraine on and off-wiki, I would like to extend the help to review new Ukraine and related page creations. I have 7 successful FL nominations (one was a joint-nomination), 1 successful GA (Prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine) and 1 unsuccessful (NAFO). Thanks in advance and feel free to ping me with questions/comments. Dan the Animator 01:57, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

I am requesting the New Pages Patrol right.

I have 4,000+ edits, including over 2,500 in mainspace and 500+ article creations. My work has given me solid experience with core content policies, particularly notability GNG, reliable sourcing, verifiability, and BLP compliance. I also participate in AfD discussions and review drafts, which has strengthened my understanding of how these policies apply to new pages.

I would like to support the community by helping maintain the quality of new articles, identifying issues early, and guiding new editors toward constructive contributions. I have no blocks or sanctions.

Thank you for considering my request. Sweetabena (talk) 18:32, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

I had initially delayed my reapplication for another trial since I felt I had lost the page-reviewing spunk I had in me, but I think I've gotten back into it. I would like to reapply for another trial, and I will do my page reviewing work along with the upcoming AfC Backlog Drive. I have around 5,000 edits. mwwv converseedits 16:56, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

I'd like NPP rights to help reduce the backlog, as my account has finally reached 90 days old. I've accumulated over 6,000 edits, and I have spent time participating in AfD, and have speedy deleted numerous pages. Cheers! monkeysmashingkeyboards (talk) 18:30, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I used to be here quite frequently... like two years ago. I was granted a three month trial period towards the end of my active period and I'd like to continue NPP work and contribute to the backlog drive if that's possible (of course, I also realise I need to derust and am currently doing so!) My one month trial of the New Page Reviewer right will expire in 8 days I have really enjoyed working as part of NPP and am grateful to Rosguill for granting me the trial. I would like to request a renewals of the right I know it is slightly early but I would appreciate being considered especially with the December 2025 Backlog Drive approaching. Requests for page mover

Page mover

Hi, I'm LightandDark2000. I have over 13 years of editing Wikipedia, and I'm quite familiar with the page move policies, and other relevant policies on move discussions. I used to have this user right, and since I plan to continue editing periodically, I would like to have this permission back. I was able to use this permission to fight page-move vandalism, handle problematic draft moves and article titles (including my own screwups), and manage my own userspace, and I believe I may have used it after closing some move discussions (although I don't remember when the last time that was). Page-Mover would make my work a lot easier when I need it, instead of having to rely on admins, and I will make good use of the tool. Thanks. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 09:21, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

@LightandDark2000 I'm inclined to grant, but since your return from inactivity you have made no page moves, nor have you edited RM/TR – could you please give an example of a recent case where pagemover would have been helpful, but you had to ask for help instead? Toadspike [Talk] 09:47, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
I haven't requested any moves yet since my return, but here is one example where I would've found it useful (a recent screwup). I got around that by simply creating another redirect at the right target. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 09:50, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I wish to request Page mover rights. I am active in the NPP and AfC review processes. I frequently encounter pages that require draftification or articles whose titles require correction. These moves often leave unnecessary redirects. I would like to avoid this situation. I have not participated in requested moves or move reviews previously. Best regards. Rollback

I’ve been patrolling recent changes consistently and have handled a substantial amount of vandalism. I also pending changes reviewing rights. Gaining rollback rights would allow me to respond more quickly and effectively, especially during spikes in vandalism, and would support the work I’m already doing. I've been handling vandalism for quite a while now, I have a chunk more than 1000 edit's the majority of which are dealing in vandalisum(the rest of witch are other simmalar activitys). I mainly use Ultraviolet and ocasionally twinkle but would like to try to use the tools that require rollback. Pyrrhic victor (talk) 15:14, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

I have been patrolling recent changes for a while. I currently use Ultraviolet when patrolling recent changes, but would like to try AntiVandal to expand my toolbox, which requires rollback. I use the standard warning templates with Ultraviolet, although I do have a set of "uw-0" style messages that I use occasionally. mdm.bla 03:21, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

I have been RC patrolling for over two months now. Clicking individual diff links to revert edits is very inefficient and unnecessary, and I believe having rollback could fix this. I've made over 200 edits to mainspace and have no history of edit warring. Seanwk :) (Talk | Contribs) 02:42, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

Requests for template editor

Template editor

This is a non-traditional request as I'm a former admin who hasn't had any particular need to edit [protected templates since my desysopping (though I was a little surprised that I was able to make edits to stub templates like this_, but this user right might become useful to me soon. I'm interested in monitoring the output of the very new User :CSD U6 Bot (also see this discussion for background) and rather than asking for edits to its fully protected ignore list, I thought it would be easier if the page could be template-protected and I (and perhaps other non-admin template editors) could make additions to it). I started a discussion about this at User talk:CSD U6 Bot/Ignore list#Making this page template-protected, etc.? (feel free to contribute to it). The bot owner, Anomie, is unwilling to act unilaterally and sent me to this page, so here I am. When I was an admin I occasionally made accessibility-related edits to protected templates, like this case with fraction and conversion templates/modules. I have a healthy fear of editing highly used templates and would always test any changes in the ssandbox first. I'm one of only two importers and I have a strong and unique password for Wikipedia. As I've done for years with trying to ward off IP vandalism on articles, I plan to use this tool for long term abuse issues in my areas of interest (especially with sockpuppetry and SPIs) and comparing page edit histories and tracking it appropriately, along with other common anti-vandalism measures. I have read through the full disclosure and plan to comply with all points and any new policies made in the future. Nathannah📮 00:50, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I've been here some time now, and am an irregularly frequent poster at SPI, AIV and other specialist noticeboards. I was advised I might qualify for this, and have decided to do so now that I'm finding it increasingly difficult to identify TA "evidence". For example, the tool would have come in handy at that linked discussion, also at this SPI and most recently today. I undertand the legal implications supporting this right—basically a similar spirit that controls the linking of IPs and accounts at SPI, in a nutshell?—the balance between discretion and disclosure, and have made myself conversant with WP:TAIV; I am also aware that the patrolling admin is permitted to decline applicants who meet these criteria but are otherwise unsuitable for access to this tool.
