New ICICI Bank service charges kick in August 1
ICICI Bank has introduced significant changes to its service charges for savings accountholders, impacting cash deposits, withdrawals, ATM usage, and penalties for not maintaining the required monthly average balance (MAB) from August 1, 2025. Customers are advised to review the new rules carefully to avoid additional costs.

Minimum monthly average balance (MAB)

MAB is the simple average of day-end balances for a calendar month.
For savings accounts opened after August 1, 2025, ICICI Bank has revised the minimum monthly average balance (MAB) requirements based on branch location. Customers in metro and urban areas must maintain an MAB of Rs 50,000, while those in semi-urban branches need to keep Rs 25,000. For rural branches, the required MAB is set at Rs 10,000.

Cash transaction charges

Cash transaction charges at cash deposits at branches and cash recycler machines
1) The monthly cap is three complimentary cash transactions, after which each transaction costs Rs 150.
2) The complimentary value limit is Rs 1 lakh per month total. After that, it is Rs 3.5 per 1,000 or Rs 150, whichever is more.
If the threshold of both number and value limit have crossed for the same transaction, higher of the charges mentioned above pertaining to number limit or value limit will apply. Third party cash deposit limit of Rs 25,000 per transaction applicable for all savings accounts.

Cash withdrawal at branches

1) The monthly cap is three complimentary cash transactions and after that, each transaction costs Rs 150.
2) The value limit is complimentary up to a total of Rs 1 lakh per month. After that, it's Rs 3.5 per 1,000 or 150, whichever is greater.
If the threshold of both number and value limit have crossed for the same transaction, higher of the charges mentioned above pertaining to number limit or value limit will apply. Third party cash withdrawal limit of Rs 25,000 per transaction applicable for all savings accounts.

ATM interchange fee (non- ICICI Bank ATMs)

At six designated metro locations ( Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad), ICICI Bank customers will be charged Rs 23 for each financial transaction and Rs 8.5 for each non-financial transaction at non-ICICI Bank ATMs, once they exceed the limit of three free transactions per month (inclusive of both financial and non-financial transactions).

At locations other than the six designated metros, ICICI Bank customers will be charged Rs 23 per financial transaction and Rs 8.5 per non-financial transaction at non-ICICI Bank ATMs after exceeding five free transactions per month, inclusive of both financial and non-financial transactions.

ICICI Bank offers a maximum of 5 transactions free in a month, across locations, with a cap of 3 transactions at 6 metro locations. ATM withdrawal at other banks (outside India) will be charged Rs 125/ transaction+3.5% currency conversion charge. Non-financial charge will be Rs 25 per transaction.


Transactions at ICICI Bank ATMs

After the first five free transactions in a month, Rs 23 will be charged per financial transaction. All non-financial transactions, such as balance inquiries, mini statements, and PIN changes, will remain free. Financial transactions include cash withdrawals.


Cash deposit charges

The bank will charge Rs 50 per transaction during non-working hours, i.e. 4:30 pm to 9 am and holidays, for the deposits exceeding Rs 10,000 per month either as a single transaction or multiple transactions. These charges are applicable over and above the charges of cash transactions

Other service charges

  • Issue of DD drawn on ICICI Bank by cheque/ transfer: Rs 2/1000; Subject to a minimum of Rs 50 and maximum of Rs 15,000.
  • Debit Card annual fees: Rs 300 per annum (p.a). For Gramin locations – Rs 150 p.a.
  • Replacement card fees: Rs 300 p.a
  • Value added SMS: 15 paisa per SMS Upper limit of Rs 100 per quarter.
  • IMPS outward: No charges for online transactions.
  • RTGS outward: Transactions done at branch will incur Rs 20 per transactions for amounts between Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 5 lakhs : Above Rs 5 lakhs Rs 45 per transactions.
  • NEFT outward: No charges for online transactions.
  • Branch transaction charges are as follows: up to Rs 10,000 – Rs 2.25 per transaction; Rs 10,001 to Rs 1,00,000 – Rs 4.75 per transaction; Rs 1,00,001 to Rs 2,00,000 – Rs 14.75 per transaction; and Rs 2,00,001 to Rs 10,00,000 – Rs 24.75 per transaction.
  • Issue of Statement (Green charge): Rs 100 for each month’s statement per instance printed at branch or phone banking. No charges if generated via ATM, iMobile, internet banking.

Penal charges for ICICI bank customers

Penal Charges
Charges for non - maintenance of minimum monthly average balance (NMMAB) 6% of the shortfall in required MAB or Rs 500 whichever is lower.
Non maintenance charges will be waived off if customer meets the enrolled program criteria.
In case of Family Banking, the customer must collectively maintain 1.5 times program eligibility criteria. If family banking threshold criteria are not met, the non-maintenance charges will be applicable to family members who do not maintain individual MAB.

Nil charges for Pensioners.
ECS / NACH Debit Returns Rs 500 per instance for financial reasons. Maximum recovery will be applicable for 3 instances per month for the same mandate
Cheque return outward (cheque deposited by customer) Rs 200 per instance for financial reasons
Cheque return inward (cheque issued by customer) Rs 500 per instance for financial reasons.
Rs 50 for non-financial reasons except for signature verification
Decline of transaction at other bank ATMs or point of sale (POS) due to insufficient balance in the account (Domestic) Rs 25 per transaction

GST shall be applicable on all mentioned charges.
