Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Wednesday, reflecting gains across global markets after the United States and Japan struck a trade deal, raising hopes of progress in India-US trade talks.

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Wednesday, mirroring broad-based gains across Asian markets after a high-stakes trade pact between the United States and Japan stoked hopes of progress in India-US trade talks.
The Sensex advanced 539.83 points, or 0.66%, to settle at 82,726.64, while the Nifty gained 159 points, or 0.63%, to close at 25,219.90. The market capitalization of all listed companies on the BSE increased by Rs 82,186 crore to Rs 460.37 lakh crore.

Sri Lotus Developers and Realty, which is set to launch its IPO next Wednesday, has allotted equity shares on a private placement basis to Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, the Roshan family, and veteran investor Ashish Kacholia.
The equity shares were allotted in 2024 at a price of Rs 150 apiece.
The Shah Rukh Khan Family Trust holds 675,000 shares investing Rs 10.1 crore while Amitabh Bachchan bought 666,670 shares at a cost of Rs 10 crore at the time of the private placement according to the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) filed by the company. Meanwhile, Hrithik Rakesh Roshan and father Rakesh Roshan hold 70,000 shares each in the company.
The equity shares were allotted in 2024 at a price of Rs 150 apiece.

Kaytex Fabrics fixes IPO price band at Rs 171-180/ share; public issue to open on Jul 29
Kaytex Fabrics, a digital textile printing company, on Wednesday said it has fixed the price band at Rs 171-180 per equity share for a nearly Rs 70 crore initial public offering (IPO) which will hit the capital market on July 29.
The SME IPO will open on July 29 and conclude on July 31. The company's shares will be listed on the NSE's Emerge platform, Kaytex Fabrics said in a statement.
The public issue is a mix of fresh issue of 31.99 lakh equity shares aggregating to Rs 57.59 crore and an offer for sale of up to 6.79 lakh shares amounting to Rs 12.23 crore by the promoters Sanjeev Kandhari and Amit Kandhari.
Post-IPO, promoters will hold 73.61 per cent of the equity stake, while the public will hold 26.39 per cent.
The SME IPO will open on July 29 and conclude on July 31. The company's shares will be listed on the NSE's Emerge platform, Kaytex Fabrics said in a statement.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday reiterated his criticism of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell amid his ongoing call for lower rates, and called on the central bank's board to act.
"Our Rate should be three points lower than they are, saving us $1 Trillion per year (as a Country). This stubborn guy at the Fed just doesn’t get it — Never did, and never will. The Board should act, but they don’t have the Courage to do so!" Trump wrote on his social media platform.

Yen wobbles as traders process trade deal and political uncertainty
Currency traders focused on Wednesday on the yen, which see-sawed as they weighed speculation about the future of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba against U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a trade deal with Japan.
The Japanese currency initially hit its strongest level since July 11 at 146.20 per dollar on the trade news but flipped to losses after reports Ishiba intends to step down next month following a bruising upper house election defeat.
Ishiba said the reports he had already decided to resign were "completely unfounded", and the yen recovered to leave the dollar last down 0.23% at 146.33 yen.
The trade deal - which lowers tariffs on auto imports and spares Tokyo from punishing new levies - affects the yen both because of what it means for the economy and also the Bank of Japan, which has been cautiously raising interest rates.

Tata Teleservices Q1 Results: Net loss rises marginally by 0.5% YoY, revenue down by 12%
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) on Wednesday reported its first quarter results for the financial year 2026, in which its net loss widened by 0.5% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 324.98 crore, up from Rs 323.40 in Q1FY25.
The company’s revenue from operations fell by 12.3% YoY to Rs 284.25 crore, as compared to Rs 323.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year. Other income was also down to Rs 2.11 crore, from Rs 3.67 crore in Q1FY25. Read More

Tata Consumer Products on Wednesday reported a 15% growth in its Q1FY26 consolidated net profit at Rs 334 crore versus Rs 290 crore in the year ago period. The company's revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,779 crore which was up 10% from Rs 4,352 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year.
