Yes Bank charges from October 1, 2025
YES Bank has revised its smart salary schedule of charges, which will come into effect from October 1, 2025. Some of the changes for salary account holders relate to: Debit card fees, ATM withdrawal limits, cheque return penalties, and cash transaction charges. Here’s a detailed look at what’s changing and how it may impact your account.

The changes apply to customers holding Smart Salary account variants such as Smart Salary Advantage Account, Smart Salary Exclusive Account, Smart Salary Platinum Account and Smart Salary Platinum Pro Account.

The YES Bank Salary account is a zero-balance account provided that the salary is being credited. If the salary is not being credited, the account holder needs to maintain the average monthly balance (AMB).


YES Bank debit card charges

YES Bank’s Smart Salary Advantage Account comes with a RuPay Debit Card at an issuance fee of Rs 199. The bank doesn’t charge any fee for the debit cards issued with Smart Salary Exclusive Account, Smart Salary Platinum Account, and Smart Salary Platinum Pro Account provided the account holders meet the conditions associated with the respective accounts/ cards.

For the debit cards issued along with the above mentioned 3 salary account variants the conditions for fee waiver are as follows:

Joining fees
Waived subject to a salary credit of Rs 10,000 or more in any of the succeeding three consecutive months of the account opening month or AMB of Rs 10,000 or more maintained in the previous month of the card billing month.

Renewal fees

Waived subject to a salary credit of Rs 10,000 or more in any of the preceding three consecutive months of the card billing month or AMB of Rs 10,000 or more maintained in the previous month of the card billing month.
If these conditions are not met joining fees or renewal fees will be levied on the debit card as per the charges given below:
Rupay Debit Card- Rs 199
Element Debit Card- Rs 329
Engage Debit Card- Rs 399
Explore Debit Card- Rs 599

ATM transactions at other bank ATMs
In YES Bank’s Smart Salary Advantage Account and Smart Salary Exclusive Account, customers can avail up to 3 free ATM transactions each month at metro locations and up to 5 transactions at non-metro locations. Beyond this limit, charges are Rs 23 per financial transaction and Rs 10 per non-financial transaction.

Other ATM charges
  • ATM transactions outside India:Cash Withdrawals- Rs 150/transaction
  • Balance inquiry- Rs 20/transaction
  • ATM & POS declines due to insufficient funds- Rs 25/transaction
  • Debit card cross currency mark-up- 3%
  • Replacement of lost/stolen debit card- Rs 199/instance
  • PIN regeneration through branch- Rs 50/instance
  • Charge slip retrieval- Rs 250/instance
  • Combined cash transactions monthly free limit at branch
  • At branches, the combined monthly free cash transaction limit is Rs 1 lakh in value or 2 transactions, whichever is reached first. Beyond this limit, a charge of Rs 4.5 per Rs 1,000 transaction (a minimum of Rs 150) will apply.

Non-maintenance Charges (NMC)

It is normally not levied on any salary account but it is chargeable if there is no salary credit of Rs 10,000 for the preceding three consecutive months or AMB of Rs 10,000 has not been maintained in the previous month of the billing month. The below charges will apply depending on the AMB maintained:
1. 100% or more of the requirement- NIL
2. More than 75% and less than 100% of the requirement- 5% of the balance shortfall
3. More than 50% and equal to or less than 75% of the requirement – 7.5% of the balance shortfall
4. Equal to or less than 50% of the requirement - 10% of the balance shortfall
Note that these rates are subject to a maximum charge of Rs 750.

Cheque return charges

Cheque return due to insufficient funds will attract a penalty of Rs 500 for the first instance and Rs 750 from the second instance onwards. In case of a cheque return for technical reasons, a fee of Rs 50/instance will be charged. Outward cheque return will cost Rs 350 per instance, while standing instruction (SI) return, excluding recurring deposits, will be charged at Rs 100 per instance. For ECS return due to insufficient funds, the charges will be Rs 550 for the first instance and Rs 600 from the second instance onwards. Stop payment of cheques requested through the branch will be charged at Rs 100 per instruction, and obtaining a physical account statement from the branch will also cost Rs 100 per request.
