Indian stocks ended in deep red on Friday, with the benchmarks logging their sixth consecutive weekly loss, as a confluence of global and domestic headwinds, from U.S. President Donald Trump’s abrupt doubling of tariffs on Indian exports to persistent foreign investor outflows and subdued Q1 earnings, weakened investor sentiment.
The BSE Sensex fell 765.47 points, or 0.95%, to close at 79,857.79, while the NSE Nifty shed 232.85 points, or 0.95%, to trade at 24,363.30.

Infibeam Avenues Q1 Results: PAT surges 70% to Rs 85 crore
Infibeam Avenues on Friday said its profit after tax (PAT) rose over 70 per cent to Rs 85.50 crore in the June quarter mainly on the back of enhanced pricing control through AI deployment, which improved monetisation and merchant experience.
The company said its board has also approved strategic transfer of e-commerce platform infrastructure business to Rediff.com India Ltd for Rs 800.39 crore, thus increasing Infibeam's stake in Rediff from 54.1 per cent to 82.7 per cent.

OPEC oil output rises in July led by UAE and Saudi, survey finds
OPEC's oil output rose further in July after an OPEC+ agreement to raise production, a Reuters survey found on Friday, although the hike was limited by Iraq making additional cuts and by drone attacks on Kurdish oilfields.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries pumped 27.38 million barrels per day last month, up 270,000 bpd from June's revised total, the survey showed, with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia making the largest increases.
OPEC+, which comprises OPEC and its allies including Russia, is accelerating its plan to unwind its most recent layer of output cuts. At the same time, some members are required to make extra cuts to compensate for earlier overproduction, in theory limiting the impact of the hikes.

Gold climbs Rs 800 to scale new record of Rs 1,03,420 per 10 gram
Gold prices climbed by Rs 800 to hit a fresh all-time high of Rs 1,03,420 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday due to persistent buying by stockists, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
The precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity added Rs 3,600 in the preceding session to hit a new closing peak of Rs 1,02,620 per 10 grams.

SBI confident about double-digit corporate loan rise despite tariff woes
State Bank of India is confident that corporate loan growth will quicken to double-digit percent despite U.S. tariff-related turmoil, its chairman said on Friday, after treasury profits helped the country's top bank beat earnings estimates.
U.S. President Donald Trump on August 6 imposed an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods as punishment for Delhi's purchases of Russian oil. That raised the total duty on Indian exports to 50% - among the highest of any U.S. trading partner.
While SBI will face limited direct business impact from U.S. tariffs, uncertainty stemming from the levies could slow businesses down, which could delay investment decisions, chairman CS Setty told reporters.

India's forex reserves drop USD 9.32 bn to USD 688.87 bn
India's forex reserves dropped by USD 9.322 billion to USD 688.871 billion for the week ended August 1 in one of the highest declines in the recent past, the RBI data showed on Friday.
The overall reserves rose by USD 2.703 billion to USD 698.192 billion in the previous reporting week.
For the week ended August 1, foreign currency assets, a major component of the reserves, decreased by USD 7.319 billion to USD 581.607 billion, according to the data.

Voltas Q1 profit down 58% to Rs 140 crore
Air-conditioning maker and engineering services provider Voltas Ltd on Friday reported a decline of 58 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 140.61 crore for the June quarter, as unseasonal rains and early arrival of monsoon impacted the cooling business.
It had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 335 crore in the April-June period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from the Tata Group firm.
The company's revenue dropped by 20.22 per cent to Rs 3,912.29 crore in the June quarter of FY26. In the year-ago period, the same was Rs 4,903.91 crore.

NIIT Q1 Results: Profit slumps 44% to Rs 4.3 crore, revenue rises 2% to Rs 84.1 crore
Skills and talent development firm NIIT Ltd on Friday posted a 43.6 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 4.37 crore in the April-June quarter due to headwinds from a turbulent environment in the technology and BFSI sectors.
It had reported a profit (attributable to owners of the parent company) of Rs 7.75 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing.

Carborundum Universal Q1 Results: Co reports net profit at Rs 60 crore
Carborundum Universal Ltd on Friday recorded a dip in its consolidated net profits at Rs 60.39 crore for the April-June 2025 quarter due to a decline in its sales in the abrasives business, the company said.
The city-based manufacturer of industrial ceramics and abrasives had reported a net profit of Rs 114.84 crore during the corresponding quarter of the last financial year.
For the year ending March 31, 2025 the net profits stood at Rs 298.71 crore, Carborundum Universal Ltd part of the diversified conglomerate Murugappa Group said in a statement here on Friday.

PSU banks earn record Rs 44,218 crore profit in Q1
Led by State Bank of India (SBI), public sector banks cumulatively logged a record profit of Rs 44,218 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, with a growth of 11 per cent year-on-year.
All 12 public sector banks together made a profit of Rs 39,974 crore in June quarter of FY25. The increase in profit in absolute terms was Rs 4,244 crore.
Market leader SBI alone contributed 43 per cent to the total earnings of Rs 44,218 crore, as per the published numbers on stock exchanges.

- Both NFOs will be open for subscription from August 11 and will close on August 25. The funds will reopen for continuous sale and repurchase on September 1. Info Edge Q1 Results: Cons PAT jumps 27% YoY to Rs 296 crore, revenue up 17%
Info Edge (India) on Friday reported a 27% year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter at Rs 296 crore compared to Rs 233 crore in the year-ago period. The profit after tax (PAT) is attributable to the equity holders of the parent. The operator of Naukri.com platform reported revenue of Rs 791 crore in the quarter under review which was 17% higher from Rs 677 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year. State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported a 12% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its standalone net profit for the June quarter at Rs 19,160 crore, compared to Rs 17,035 crore in the same period last year.
The public lender earned interest income of Rs 1,17,996 crore in the quarter under review compared to Rs 1,11,526 crore which was 6% higher. SBI paid Rs 76,923 crore as interests which was 9% up against Rs 70,401 crore it expended in the year ago period. Read more

Apparel manufacturer Page Industries Ltd has reported a 21.52 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 200.79 crore for the June quarter of FY26, helped by volume growth, supply chain efficiency and cost optimisation.
Revenue from operations increased 3 per cent to Rs 1,316.56 crore in the June quarter of this fiscal year, against the Rs 1,277.51 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
Page Industries, which is the exclusive licensee of JOCKEY International Inc (USA) for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Maldives, Bhutan and UAE, in its earnings statement said in the June quarter, its "Sales volume growth was 1.9 per cent YoY, amounting to 58.6 million pieces."
Its EBITDA growth was 21.1 per cent YoY, amounting to Rs 294 crore, it said.
